Novice Year 1972

Randy turned professional in 1972 at the age of 16. He finished his Novice year as 7th ranked short-tracker and 11th overall dirt-tracker in the nation in the Novice class. He started out the year sponsored by B & M Cycle (owned by his parents, Bill & Mona Cleek). Bill sold the business and later that year Randy started riding with Team K & N out of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
