Junior Year 1973

In 1973, Randy’s Junior plate number was 11M. He continued to be sponsored by Team K & N of Sapulpa, OK. This was also Randy’s Senior year in high school. He started his road race career at Daytona as a Novice in March. In May of ’73 he graduated from high school and that evening, with a loaded van, Randy and Bill took off for the races. He finished in the top 10 in 3 out of 5 Road Races he entered that year. He finished as 3rd top ranked short tracker and 7th top overall Junior rider nationwide and was leading in Central Regional points until he broke his collar bone at the Laguna Seca, CA, road race, consequently finishing 2nd.
